The Paxos Ceramics Studio « Platanos » is a specially designed building by Corfu architect Marilena Koskina, inaugurated in 2026. It is located at Platanos, a site near the village of Fountana on the Greek island of Paxos. The studio is located in a beautiful natural setting among the age-old Venetian olive groves of Paxos. Misha Goro from Chicago and the South African photographer and sculptor Vivian van Blerk, based in Paris, have visited Paxos on numerous occasions. They have created over the years multiple series of paintings and photographs inspired by their experience of the island’s nature, architecture and light.

The exhibition is curated by PhD art historian and exhibition curator Katerina Koskina in collaboration with the nοn-profit Cultural Association Polites (ΑΜΚΕ ΠΟΛΙΤΕΣ).

In Memoriam : Vivian van Blerk
23 juillet 2024, par SofiaGareth Vivian van Blerk was born in Cape Town, South Africa on 12 March 1971. After graduating from the Michaelis School of Fine Art at the University of Cape Town in 1995 he travelled widely before settling down in France in 1997. In Paris he befriended and began his collaboration with future gallery directors Chris Boïcos and Jennifer Robertson Norback.
From 1994 to 2018 Vivian produced an extraordinary number of photographs of architectural environments, which from 1999 were hand-built (...) -

Ettore Greco est né à Padoue en 1969. Il a étudié la sculpture à l’Académie des Beaux-Arts de Venise ou il est aujourd’hui professeur de sculpture.
